NORTH AMERICAN CUP TO BE RESCHEDULED!

WISCONSIN DELLS, WI. (July 3, 2004) -- Torrential rains began to fall just prior to the final practice session, during the 11th Annual North American Cup 100 presented by Ho Chunk Casino at Dells Motor Speedway.

The event, which was to have been the fifth race of the season on the Wisconsin Challenge Series Series schedule, would fall to weather as the amount of rain which fell made any attempt at drying the track surface impossible.   Additionally due to the extremely wet conditions and continued forecast for heavy rains, the raindate for the event which was to have been Sunday, July 4th was also postponed.

Officials are currently seeking the best possible date for the rescheduling of the race program in it's entirety.

Prior to the precipitation, a total of 38 cars had taken to the racing surface, and two more late arrivals had appeared at the pit gates when the rain began to fall.

In addition to the Wisconsin Challenge Series Super Late Models, the Rascal Outlaws and the speedway's own Super Stocks were to have participated in the program.  Support classes for the rescheduled event will also be evaluated based upon the scheduling and commitments of the other cars involved.

This event was the second rainout of a Wisconsin Challenge Series event this season, establishing a new single season record for rain outs.  With the rescheduling of the North American Cup race to a later date five events still remain on the 2004 Wisconsin Challenge Series schedule.

The next race will be held at the 141 Speedway, a quarter-mile paved oval located in Northeastern Wisconsin on Sunday Afternoon, July 25th.  Time trials for that race will be held at 4:00 p.m., with racing at 5:30 p.m.

The facility hosted it's first Wisconsin Challenge Series event last year, with the defending series champion Erik Darnell taking the victory in a 100 lap contest, over local favorite and multi-time track champion Gregg Haese.
