LOCAL DRIVERS
TO GET A CHALLENGE IN CABIN FEVER 100
SEASON OPENER AT DELLS RACEWAY PARK!

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 (APPLETON,
WI) – The eight season of the
Wisconsin Challenge Series is set to get
underway at a recently revamped Dells
Raceway Park. Fans will be greeted
with the smell of burning rubber and
fresh paint as the Cabin Fever 100 will
usher in the 2008 racing season on
Saturday April 26th, for both the series
and the raceway. It should prove
to be a spectacular event.
"For eight years we've remained true
to our vision of brining the best local
racers from various tracks together for
bragging rights in our races. Its
all about the hometrack guys defending
their home turf against the invaders
from other raceways. It's
something fans can sink their teeth
into, a them verses us kind of thing.
That provides the excitement and
entertainment at our events", noted
Wisconsin Challenge Series events
director Jeffrey Sachse
Dells racers will be set to hold onto
the home turf headed up by 2007 raceway
champion Jeff Kendall of Montello and
points runner-up Andrew Morrissey of
DeForest. One can also expect
Kenny Richards, with a handful of title
under his belt in various classes at the
track to be near the front of the pack
when the checkered flag drops.
Overall the history would indicate
the local drivers should fare well in
the event. Regulars weekly
racers such as Rocky Breezer, Kevin
Brescia, Jeff Kendall, Kyle Kinder,
Kelly Biers, Dexter Bean and Frank
Kreyer have all successfully defended
Dells Raceway Park glory over the years
in WCS events, but it's hardly been a
shutout for the challengers.
The most recent WCS contest held at
the raceway was won by two-time and
defending Wisconsin International
Raceway title holder Tim Rothe who has
his sights set on chasing the 2008
series title who is no doubt after a
repeat victory. Two-time
series champion Mark Eswein of Wisconsin
Rapids should also fair well, having won
the most recent WCS contest, the season
finale last year at Marshfield Super
Speedway.
While the while those who run weekly
on area tracks will make up the bulk of
the field, special event drivers such as
three-time series champion Nathan
Haseleu and a recent surprise entry by
Tim Sauter should add a little spice to
an already exciting mix of drivers.
While the new season will have plenty
of action on the track, the track itself
will be exciting and new for 2008.
A major overhaul of the grounds has
taken place and the track revamped with
a new exit giving officials the
opportunity to move along an already
fast paced program. The Cabin
Fever 100 will mark the first event with
the track's new configuration.
Giving fans access to this show at an
affordable cost one has to tip their hat
to Dells Raceway Park which held the
line on admission. An adult ticket
will be just $12 for the event, with
student and senior tickets a mere $8.
Overall the contest will mark one of the
best racing values for the fans dollar
in the state of Wisconsin this year.
The track also made adjustments in
the schedule with the fans in mind to
take advantage of early spring
weather.
Action on Saturday, April 26th, the
Cabin Fever 100 will be a twilight show.
The pit gates will open at 10:00 a.m.
The grandstands will open at 1:30 p.m.
to allow fans to grab their favorite
seat. Qualifying will take place
at 2:30 p.m. and the first green flag of
the day will drop at 4:00 p.m.
Additional information on the Cabin
Fever 100 will be released in the
upcoming weeks and fans are urged to
visit the websites for the track at
www.dellsracewaypark.com and the
series at

latest news as we head toward raceday.
