HOLZHAUSEN HAULS IN FIRST CAREER WCS CHECKERED IN NON-STOP 100 LAPPER AT GOLDEN SANDS!

Friday, July 27, 2007 (PLOVER, WI) – In an evening of firsts, a large crowd was on hand for the McCain Foods Sands 100, to witness veteran racer Steve Holzhausen of Bangor, WI collect his first career Wisconsin Challenge Series victory.  Holzhausen who was won numerous races throughout his career has upped his best previous WCS performance, that a second place run in the series back in the series finale during the 2003 racing season.  The race also marked the first time in series history, spanning some 56 events, that a single event format feature had run from green to checkered.  The distance of 100 laps ran without interruption as 17 of the 23 starters will still on the track when the checkered flag flew......More

 

RICHARDS ROCKETS TO WCS VICTORY AT MARSHFIELD, EDGES LOCAL FAVORITE GREGORICH JR.!

Saturday, July 14, 2007 (MARSHFIELD, WI) – The largest racing event crowd of the 2007 season turned out at Marshfield Speedway to witness the local favorites take on the best of the traveling Wisconsin Challenge Series competitors.  In the end it was Kenny Richards of Montello, besting current Marshfield Super Speedway point leader Eugene Gregorich Jr., in an action packed event, that ran the 80 lap distance in a mere 27 minutes, which included just a single caution flag, early in the contest.  Gregorich would close as lapped traffic came into play during the final 10 laps, but was unable to get closer than six car lengths, the margin of victory at the checkered.   Frank Kreyer would put on an impressive charge throughout the caution flag throughout the duration of the event, in a hurry no doubt, as his wife is expecting their first child before the conclusion of the weekend.....More

 

ROTHE WINS NORTH AMERICAN CUP, KAUKAUNA CHAMPION COLLECTS HIS FIRST CAREER WCS FEATURE!

Saturday, June 30, 2007 (WISCONSIN DELLS, WI) – Returning to the Dells Raceway Park for the second of two 2007 appearances, the Wisconsin Challenge Series arrived with two-time defending series Champion, Pardeeville's Nathan Haseleu enjoying a 52-point cushion over Montello's Kenny Richards in the WCS championship points chase.

With five Dells Raceway Park Late Models joining the WCS field, 21 drivers lined up for a chance to claim DRP's North America Cup. The field included last year's winner, DRP's very own Frank Kreyer who sat on the Pole for the 100-lap Feature. Also in the field and making his first WCS appearance of 2007 was Montello's Jeff Kendall, the inaugural 2002 North American Cup winner.....More

 

GARDNER AND HAESE COLLECT WINS AS WCS VISITS WIR
 FOR THE RED RACE!

Saturday, June 9, 2007 (Plover, WI) – It was a tale of two features, some fine racing action, surprise endings and an entertaining program which greeted fans as the Wisconsin Challenge Series participated in the opening round of the Red, White and Blue State Championships.  The end result of the evening would see a tie between Mike Gardner of Gladstone, MI, the current Fox River Racing Club point leader, and Tim Rothe of Appleton, the defending track champion for the overall victory in the Red race.  Not to be outdone Gregg Haese of Two Rivers, racing for the recently reformed Buco Racing, earned what was perhaps the biggest feature win of his career taking the victory in the second 50 lap feature while holding off defending WCS champion Nathan Haseleu for the win.  Based upon that effort, Haese is currently third in Red, White and Blue standings, while Haseleu will be ranked fourth.  Haseleu's perforce will allow him to increase his WCS point lead over Kenny Richards, who inspire of making the main events, had an otherwise off day. ....More

EPAK MAKES MEMORIAL DAY - MEMORABLE BY TAKING FIRST CAREER WCS VICTORY!

Monday, May 28, 2007 (Plover, WI) – There had be occasion in past Wisconsin Challenge Series events where Jeremy Lepak of Wausau, Wisconsin appeared headed for victory lane, only to have his effort thwarted by mechanical failure, or by losing momentum in the closing stages of the race.  Such would not be the case on a sunny, Monday Afternoon, before a large crowd at the Memorial 100 at Golden Sands Speedway.  Lepak would fend off a hard charging Andy Hanson who was making his first career WCS start to grab his first feature win in WCS competition. ....More

NATHAN HASELEU WINS PEPSI 100
AT MADISON INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY!

Sunday, May 6, 2007 (Oregon, WI) – A cool, windy day greeted fans at Madison International Speedway who were treated to four divisions of exciting racing action.  When the racing was done it would be defending Wisconsin Challenge Series champion Nathan Haseleu in victory lane after capturing his first victory of the 2007 season in WCS competition.

Haseleu would reach the finish line a half-dozen car lengths ahead of his nearest rival Chad Wood.  Wood a former champion at Madison International Raceway turned in a stellar performance in his WCS debut.  This position went to Super Late Model rookie competitor Kyle Calmes.  The former Limited Late Model title holder at Wisconsin International Raceway turned in a stellar performance earning a career high third place finish in WCS competition.. ....More

RUBECK REPEATS AT ROCKFORD SPRING CLASSIC

Sunday, April 15, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Steve Rubeck’s weekend was off to a rough start. After he and his crew spent most of the night replacing his whole brake system, he returned to capture his second straight Wisconsin Challenge Series Spring Classic feature at the Rockford Speedway.

Andy Monday and Mark Eswein led the field to the start of the 150-lap main event. Monday jumped out to the early lead.

Monday led all the way through the first 75-laps, but there was plenty of action behind him. ....More
